Happy 2018!!!

Well I have had quite the hiatus! I apologise for my lack of blogs, recipes and general ramblings, I have had a ridiculously busy few months but I’m happy to report things are finally calming down now. Yay for 2018!

2017 was a massive year for our family. Our baby turned one! I seriously blinked and a year had passed and the second year seems to be passing just as quickly too! Our home renovation took up a huge proportion of our time and basically sucked all the energy out of us. (I will write a post about things I learned while renovating but it’s all a bit too fresh in my mind just now. Kind of like childbirth.)

However, finally, in September last year we moved in! WOOHOO!!! It took us a few months to unpack and sort ourselves out but we finally feel like we are home. Our little family is together and the stress of the build has melted away (mostly!).

We are also welcoming another baby in April this year, so pregnancy and morning sickness were just another fun curve ball to add to the mayhem that was 2017. No doubt our little bundle will bring fresh new mayhem for 2018, but the three of us are pretty excited about welcoming our littlest member to our pretty exclusive club.

So whilst I’m now experiencing a relative period of calm, I’m hoping to be able to get back to what I enjoy and dedicate some more time to those things I love. To cooking and creating new recipes. To writing, and to reading. To gardening, a new skill to develop now that we have a garden again. To my random creative outlets like crotchet, macrame, sewing and knitting. And to immersing myself in all things toddler, like drawing on the pavement in chalk, having tea parties, building sand castles and getting dirty at the park.

I have another project in the works too which I’m hoping to be able to share with you all very soon.

So stay tuned, 2018 is going to be a great one!

C.C.
